Stu's professional studio uses multiple 4K camera angles plus high-quality audio equipment and software so you can get a clear, useful lesson from wherever you are.
In-person lessons provide direct coaching on technique, coordination, reading, groove, feel, and the practical skills that make you a stronger drummer.

ABOUT STU
Stu has over 30 years of playing experience and more than 20 years of teaching experience. His career has included professional performance, touring, live events, studio work, and working with musicians across a wide range of styles. After years in the Colorado music scene, Stu moved back to New York in 2023 to be closer to family. He now offers drum instruction from the NY Adirondack region as well as online.
Known for his energy, versatility, solid feel, and ability to adapt to virtually any musical situation, Stu has performed with numerous Colorado and Front Range bands, including Wrestle With Jimmy, Stereo Tramps, The McDeviants, Pikes Peak College Jazz Band, Tent Show Kings, and Head Full of Zombies. He has also worked as a fill-in drummer, studio musician, and live performer.
As an instructor, Stu teaches students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. His lessons focus on developing solid technique, timing, feel, coordination, and confidence while keeping the learning experience fun and engaging. Students can study anything from drum rudiments and chart reading to rock, funk, jazz, blues, Latin rhythms, fills, and more.
Whether performing on stage or teaching behind the kit, Stu brings the same philosophy to everything he does: play with energy, play with purpose, and most importantly—have fun.

BEYOND THE LESSON
Stu is available for fill-in gigs, live performances and studio work. His experience spans rock, funk, pop, jazz, blues, Latin, Celtic and other styles.
Years of live performance experience, from small venues to larger events and touring situations.
Experience recording with a variety of bands and musicians across Colorado, New York and the New England region.
Can quickly learn material so your band wont lose out on important shows, having hundreds of songs already commited to memory.
